POSITION: Music Teacher  

(8 hours per day, 185 days per year; Location: John E. Flynn A Marzano Academy)

            *Licensed staff new to Westminster Public Schools is contracted for 190 days the first year*

SUMMARY: The Creative Arts Pipeline is designed to promote student learning in all content areas by integrating an arts perspective and methodology in teaching and learning. The Pipeline also fosters arts exploration for all students and advanced arts study for those who 

exhibit the aptitude and passion for more in-depth artistic pursuits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

*Possess a valid Colorado Teacher License with appropriate endorsement in the area you are teaching or obtain one prior to start.
*Candidates with endorsements in CLDE, Bilingual Ed, Foreign Language, and/or sheltered content or other English Language instructional training desired

*Be up to date on current learning theory and state of the art pedagogy in teaching
*Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships with students, staff members, parents and administrators.
*Has knowledge and experience of and/or willingness to gain knowledge of Competency-based Education approaches. 
*Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
*Bilingual desired.
*Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

*Displays a thorough knowledge of the subject matter and the District’s prescribed curriculum.

*Plans instruction consistent with the District’s curriculum for assigned subject areas/grade levels.

*Plans for student differences and adjust instruction to meet student needs.

*Implements continuous system of evaluations and provide students with specific feedback.

*Serves as facilitator and assist in the coordination of learning.

*Establishes an effective system for classroom discipline per Board Policy and building regulations.

*Organizes students for effective instruction to maximize the learning time for all students.

*Fulfills contractual and professional responsibilities.

*Submits required student record reports.

*Training in multi-disciplinary arts integration methods and structures

*Participates in regular collaborative meetings and planning sessions to support arts integration across content areas
*Assists in data collection and analysis to assess the effectiveness of the integration model
*Promotes student exploration and experiences in the arts to enhance content acquisition
*Provides arts opportunities for all students, support K – 12 arts programming and sponsor advanced experiences for identified students
